TUP drives innovation for Quezon City: Key Role in DOST's iSTART Consultation

The Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) took center stage in the third "Stakeholders Consultation" for the Department of Science and Technology's (DOST) iSTART Program on May 21, 2024. Held at Quezon City Hall, the event focused on developing innovative, technology-driven solutions to enhance the quality of life for Quezon City residents.
 

A delegation from TUP Manila, including members from the Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension, the Head of the ECE Department, and the research coordinator of the College of Engineering, actively participated in dynamic discussions and a reverse pitching activity. TUP's expertise in engineering, technology, and research provided valuable insights into tailoring solutions for Quezon City's specific challenges and opportunities.

The consultation proved pivotal in shaping Quezon City's Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Plan, a roadmap designed to leverage technology for sustainable growth and urban development. TUP's contributions will help guide future initiatives in areas such as infrastructure, transportation, environmental sustainability, and community well-being. This successful partnership between TUP and DOST marks a significant step forward in fostering a culture of innovation and progress for Quezon City.
