In a triumphant display of academic excellence, the Technological University of the Philippines—Manila (TUP-Manila) has secured the 7th rank among the Top Performing Schools in the February 2024 Mechanical Engineers Licensure Examination (MELE). The rigorous 3-day examination, conducted from February 20 to 22, 2024, saw 196 out of 241 examinees from TUP-Manila successfully passing the test, boasting an impressive passing rate of 81.33%. This achievement surpassed the national passing percentage of 65.85%, further cementing TUP-Manila's reputation for producing top-notch engineering graduates.
 

One outstanding highlight of this accomplishment is the historic feat achieved by one exceptional student from TUP-Manila's Mechanical Engineering Department. Making waves and breaking barriers, ENGR. GLEN ROSE SAN PEDRO BELO made history by becoming the first female TUP alumna to secure the top spot in the Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination (MELE). With an exceptional rating of 91.15%, she not only clinched the coveted topnotcher position but also secured a spot in the prestigious top 5 ranks of the February 2024 MELE. Standing as the sole woman among the top 10 achievers, ENGR. BELO's remarkable achievement serves as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring mechanical engineers, proving that gender is no barrier to success in the field of engineering.
