Manila – Seminar on "Fiber Composite Materials: Design, Testing and Advanced Industrial Applications," the first of the 2017 Lecture Series on Engineering and Technology Innovation was conducted on January 27, 2017 at the IRTC conference hall, TUP Manila. Participants were some of the Mechanical and Civil Engineering students of the University. Topics taken up were, Damage Assessment of a Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic under Cyclic Loading;Development of Instantaneous Mechanical Fastener for Carbon Composites; 3D Printing of Composite Materials; and Crushing Simulation of Crush Box for Automobiles.

Invited lecturers were all from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Science and Technology, Nihon University, namely: Mr. Naoto Ito, Mr. Vu MahnCuong, Mr. Ryo Omuro, and Fumiya Kondo. The group was led by Dr. Masahito Ueda, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Science and Technology, Nihon University.

Among the receiving team were Dr. Melito A. Baccay, Director, Graduate Programs and External Studies; Engr. Benedicto N. Fortaleza, Dean, College of Engineering; and Engr. Teodinis P. Garcia, Director, Integrated Research and Training Center.
