TUP GAD Sector Deliberates on 2017 GAD Plan and Budget

TUP GAD University focal person together with GAD coordinators and members from the different campuses, colleges, sectors, offices and units of TUP convene to review and cascade GAD Plan and Budget for 2017.

The Gender and Development (GAD) Sector of the Technological University of the Philippines convened all GAD coordinators from the campuses, colleges, sectors, offices and units in order to participate in the Review and Cascading of GAD Plan and Budget 2017. The activity was held on January 17, 2017 at the CIE Multimedia room.

The activity started with a program wherein Dr. Florida C. Labuguen, Vice President for Administration and Finance delivered the Welcome Remarks. In her message, Dr.Labuguen told the participants about the importance of the activity and wherein she likewise advised them to mainstream GAD in all four functions of the University, such as in instruction, research, extension and production. In this way, she added, the GAD budget can be fully and properly utilized.

TUP President, Dr. Adora S. Pili gives an Inspirational Message.

Dr. Adora S. Pili, TUP President on the other hand gave the Inspirational Message. She started by saying that TUP is one of the few SUC’s who has been undertaking GAD projects and programs and by fara number of TUP faculty and staff are already aware, knowledgeable and sensitive of GAD. Being such, she encouraged them to level up their involvement in GAD activities through cascading it in the different areas such as in research, extension, instruction and production. She also referred to instruction material making on GAD as one of the most beneficial and tangible outputs that can be derived out of GAD budget.

Meanwhile Dr. Gremila A. Igloso, TUP GAD Focal Person gave a summary of GAD Priority Budget for 2017. She made mention of the following projects with specified budget allocation for 2017, such as:

  • Training of Trainors
  • Kapihan
  • Women’s Month
  • GAD Planning
  • Bench Marking
  • Manual of Operation
  • Module Writing
  • Attendance to Seminar
  • Publication
  • Sex Aggregated Data
  • CODI
Dr.Gremilda A. Igloso, TUP GAD Focal Person discusses in detail the GAD priority budget for 2017.

According to Dr. Igloso, the amount of approximately P1.5M of the 2M GAD budget have been allotted for GAD priority projects and the remaining has been allotted equally to GAD planned projects and programs of the different coordinating units.

Thereafter, all the participants were required to accomplish the 2017 GAD target plans of their respective units, and after which, they were made to present their outputs for comments and suggestions from the body.
